Features

Everything you need to multitask

A focused set of features built around one idea: keep your video visible, no matter what you are doing. Call it a PiP extension, a mini player or a pop-out video player; it is the same one-click floating window.

Floating picture-in-picture player

Turn any video into a small, movable floating window that stays on top of every tab and every app. Switch to your editor, your notes or a chat, and the video stays exactly where you put it.

  • Movable and resizable

Drag the player to any corner and resize it from a thumbnail to half the screen. It remembers where you left it.

  • Works on most video sites

YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, Twitch, Vimeo and any standard HTML5 player. See the full list.

  • One-click activation

Click the toolbar icon on any tab with a video and it pops out. No menus, no settings, no account.

  • Simple playback

Uses Chrome’s floating video window to keep playback controls simple and familiar.

How it works

Three steps. About thirty seconds.

  1. 01

    Install the extension

One click on the Chrome Web Store. No sign-up, no permissions prompt beyond what Chrome shows for any extension.

  2. 02

Click the icon on any tab with a video

The extension finds the video on the page and asks Chrome to pop it out. Works on YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, Twitch and most players.

  3. 03

    Drag, resize, keep working

The floating player stays on top of every tab and app. Close it or click the icon again to send the video back.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes. It works on YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, Twitch, Vimeo, course platforms, embedded players and any standard HTML5 video. A few services such as Disney+ restrict picture-in-picture on parts of their catalogue; the supported sites page lists what varies.

Yes. Drag the floating player anywhere on your screen and resize it from any corner. It keeps its position when you switch tabs or apps.

Yes. The player stays on top of every Chrome tab and every other application until you close it or send the video back to its tab.

The fastest way is the toolbar icon: one click pops out the video on the current tab. You can also assign your own shortcut to the extension at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

The floating player uses the browser’s own picture-in-picture window to keep playback smooth.

Yes. The extension is completely free, with no hidden fees, no premium tier and no sign-up.

Yes. People call it a PiP extension, mini player, pop-out player, floating video player, or "video in a small window on top". They all mean the same thing: the video leaves its tab and plays in a small always-on-top window, which is exactly what this extension does with one click.

Only subtitles that are part of the video itself. Chrome’s picture-in-picture window shows the video frames, so captions that a site draws over the player (for example YouTube’s CC overlay) do not appear. Burned-in subtitles and auto-translated audio work normally.

The extension pops the video out when you click its icon. Chrome also has an automatic picture-in-picture setting at chrome://settings/content/automaticPictureInPicture that lets supported sites float their video when you leave the tab; the two work independently.
